About the Author
An eminent Orientalist and Biblical scholar, Zecharia Sitchin (1920-2010) was distinguished by his ability to read ancient Sumerian clay tablets and other ancient texts. He was a graduate of the University of London and worked as a journalist and editor in Israel for many years before making his home in New York City.

this is the wonderful story of zecharia sitchen traveling with students to find the things he knew would be there

Sitchin's other books are done as a scholar, studying the Sumerian tablets. in this book he takes students on trips to see the things he wrote about, and they discover things that no one knew were there before, that confirm the tablets.
many times when they went to a museum to see a particular artifact, it was not there and they had to write letters and get uneasy officials to arrange for them to see the things which were hidden in dusty drawers.
at times this is the story of a sweet old jewish man doing daring things, like the hero in the traders of the lost arc. it is a book that gives one hope that we will all be able to know the truths that were denied to us, very soon.

Sitchin was a one-of-a-kind visionary

Every book in the Earth Chronicles series is a delight to read. You may not agree with all of Sitchin's theories regarding Nibiru and the Anunnaki, but his chronology of ancient history and global events is spot-on, and his understanding of Sumerian mythology and language is impeccable. Regardless of the personal conclusions you arrive at after reading his work, I can certainly guarantee that you will also come away with a much greater sense of possibility for our ancient past, and the realization that there is much, much more to our history than we've ever been led to believe. In my opinion, it is the great work of researchers like Zecharia Sitchin and others that will ultimately bridge the gap between evolution and creationism, and finally reveal to us the long-hidden truths about our celestial origins.

The Magical Mythical Tour

Having read all of Sitchin's Earth Chronicle series, I had to get this one, even though I hate buying hardcovers. The book is a narrative by the author of some of his road trips to places of historical significance enumerated in the series.
It's one thing to read about his theories on history, but it's even better to see the color plates of artifacts that corroborate his theories, or photos of stone structures, weighing over 100 tons, that were used in the Anunnaki spaceport design. (You can choose not to believe it, but have you got a better explanation?)
It was interesting to see the length he would go to testing the feasibility of his theories, even though mythology, astrology, the Bible, archeology and historical writings already supported them. This was the case in Mount Sinai Mysteries - with the Sinai changing hands from Israeli to Egyptian on a weekly basis, and Sitchin trying to get permission for a fly-over then attempting to charter a helicopter.
The Chapters on the Temple Mount offered up a little intrigue, when Sitchin tried to get access to the space below the Foundation Rock. Name dropping didn't work, but bribes did. And what did he find? Well, it wasn't Pee Wee Herman's stolen bicycle. That was in the basement of the Alamo.
Some of his books are hard to read, since the reader gets bogged down keeping track of which god is "begetting" his half-sister or one of his own daughters. But this book was easy to read and informative. Great book.
