Great comprehensive book value reference

Comprehensive go-to manual for gun values. It's like the Kelly Blue Book for cars. Now whenever I am looking to purchase or sell a firearm, I'll know what its worth! The only draw back to this manual is that you have to use it and study it to understand how to find the firearm you're looking to appraise. Once you get past that learning curve, the book is a very valuable source of information.

Better options for rookies!

I inherited a large collection of guns that I did not know much about. I could find some of them in this book, but many of them I could not.......it was very confusing to me as a gun rookie. I ended up going with 2015 Standard Catalog of Firearms: The Collector's Price & Reference Guide as it shows pictures and helped me identify every single one. This might be ok for the long-time collector, but not for a rookie!

GUNS GUNS GUNS - Learn your value!

This book is great for both a private collector and the gun dealer. The book explains very clearly what to look for in and on the gun, explains clearly how condition is determined which might greatly affect the gun's price and value.
It also comes with pictures in the center to teach you what to look for in terms of condition and value. The book provides several thousand guns and prices for varying condition. Most brand are contained in the book as well as those hard to find brands and makers.
Makers are broken down into several categories so that you might search between rifles, handguns, shotguns and varied caliber.
Specialty guns are described in detail as to maker's marks, date and special markings that might increase the guns value.
I would recommend this book to any novice buyer before purchasing a gun.
I paid full price for this book.
