Valuable Resource

I bought this book as I prepared for the PE exam. I used it to prepare for the California special seismic examination.
The book is five distinct parts, detailing the process for designing all the major material types with respect to seismic forces. The authors did an excellent job of detailing each step in the process- but without repeating what has been covered in a previous example process. This makes the book a little more condensed, and, imho, a better reference.
It helped me A LOT in learning the seismic design process. However, it has been even more valuable after the exam. I have used this book while designing masonry commercial buildings, and while improving my own seismic design procedures.
If you are a California engineer, this book is recommended. If you are from an area where seismic forces rarely control design, and need a great reference to get you up to speed, this is highly recommended.
If you're heading for the PE exam, I recommend: the CERM (current edition), Pass the PE like a Pro ebook, and the relevant NCEES practice exam book.
